Lastweek, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order tomake a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.

As college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point inour lives. We all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each willprofoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country. I believe inall my fellow classmates. Though we are still inexperienced and even a littlebit childish. I believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challengeand take on our responsibilities. Whether 60 of 16, there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure ofwonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the gameof living . In the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station:so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope ,cheer, courage and power frommen and from the infinite, so long as you are young .

When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows ofcynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but aslong as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you maydie young at 80.

A rose may be beautiful， or maybe not; that depends on your attitude only，and so does success， so does life。 Hindrances and difficulties do exist， but ifyou are optimistic， then they are only episodes on your long way to the throneof success; they are more bridges than obstacles! Other than those， there are even more good effects brought to us by theOlympic Games that cannot be seen directly。 For example， more and more peoplewill get to know China。 I’m sure the mysterious Chinese culture will attractthem strongly。 And the games will also do good to the economy and environment，for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness ofenvironmental protection is being strengthened。 What is more， Olympic Games givea unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of Chinese youthwith the Olympic values and the Olympic spirit。 Now that we have seen so manyadvances， could you even imagine us losing the holding rights?

I’ve already said a lot about the Olympics and China。 But I think everyoneshould use some time to think of this question， ”Does the Olympic Games have anyspecial meaning to you?”

For us， I mean the Chinese youth， 20_ Olympic Games is a tremendous gift。Because what we are waiting for is to do something significant as repaying thelove given to us 。The society is just like a ship， and in our dreams the captainis waving his hand and saying ”Hey!
