Good morning everyone, may I have your attention, please? I am glad to beable to give a lecture on this classroom。 This once , I want to talk aboutEnglish。 My topic of conversation is that I love English。

As everyone knows,English is very important today。It has been usedeverywhere in the world。It has bee the most mon language on Internet and forinternational trade。 If we can speak English。well,we will have more chance tosucceed。Because more and more people have taken notice of it,the number of thepeople who go to learn English has increased at a high speed。

But for myself,I learn English not only because of its importance and itsusefulness, but also because of my love for it。When I learn English, I can feel adifferent way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world。When Iread English novels,I can feel the pleasure from the book which is differentfrom reading the translation。When I speak English, I can feel the confident frommy words。When I write English,I can see the beauty which is not the same as ourChines。

I love English,it gives me a colorful dream。I hope I can travel around theworld one day。 With my good English, I can make friends with many people fromdifferent contries。I can see many places of great intrests。I dream that I can goto London, because it is the birth place of English。

I also want to use my good English to introduce our great places to theEnglish spoken people,I hope that they can love our country like us。

I know, Rome was not built in a day。 I believe that after continuous hardstudy, one day I can speak English very well。

If you want to be loved, you should learn to love and be lovable。 So Ibelieve as I love English everyday , it will love me too。

I am sure that I will realize my dream one day!

Thank you!

Good morning/afternoon!

First thing first, I gotta say, wow,it's funny thing to be given a chancelike that.Trurh be told,I really got a little bit nervous before I stand righthere ,so called 'stage fright'.If you look specifically on me .You may find myhands shaking, pretty assembles the guy who suffered from Pakinson's disease, andlegs wobbling ,like I caught so-called ball leg. Okay, let's stop going aroundthe bush and get back to my topic today.I really like to talk a funny story Ihave just heard.

A lady called Lucy emigrated to United States several years ago.Her spokenEnglish is not that fluent .And one day,she is just sitting on the couch withhis U.S friends Mandy watching Sit-Com.A noise of bump had the attention ofMandy, which led her to go out of the house trying to figure out what hadhappened. Can you imagine that Mandy go straight out with merely a sweater.SoLucy shouted at her,"Lucy ,turn your clothes on." What suprised her most, beyondher wildest imagination, is that almost all the male in this country took theirhead out of the window.Admittedly,Lucy made a mistake here .The word spittedmeans Mandy is totally naked to the reason that male looked out of thewindow. The right sentence shall be,"put your clothing on."The story inspires youto take a careful look on the vast difference between eastern and westernculture.

That's full of it,thank you for your time!

On New Year's Eve, our class had a party。 The atmosphere was good。 It wasout of the ordinary from the very begining。 The boy student from one bedroomgave an unusual performance。 We saw a boy named Li Xinmin turn off all thelights in a sudden snap。 Then with three resounding crow of a cock echoing inthe hall, the hall was again brightly lit in a snap。

Then, the representative of the bedroom Zhu Guozhang asked us to guess aline of a poem related to the above situation。 He added that Li Xinmin alone wasborn in the year of the dog and the other three were all born in the year of thechicken。 They left us all in confusion。 And it was our monitor who wasquickwitted。 He shouted our, “The day breaks as the cock crows three times atdawn。” The hall After that, they had another item。

This time Li Xinmin was placed in the middle of the circle。 While he wasstanding there, the other three stood around him, each bowing down to him at anangle of 120 degrees。 It was an idiom。 This time I got it right:“The dog standsout among a group of chickens。”

Then we all sang and played games until it was eleven o'clock at night。 Theold man on night watch came to turn off the lights。 We had to tear ourselvesaway from the party。

From this activity, I discovered that many of our classmates are reallytalented singers。

One day in 1819, 3,000 miles off the coast of Chile, in one of the mostremote regions of the Pacific Ocean, 20 American sailors watched their shipflood with seawater。

They'd been struck by a sperm whale, which had ripped a catastrophic holein the ship's hull。 As their ship began to sink beneath the swells, the menhuddled together in three small whaleboats。

These men were 10,000 miles from home, more than 1,000 miles from thenearest scrap of land。 In their small boats, they carried only rudimentarynavigational equipment and limited supplies of food and water。

These were the men of the whaleship Essex, whose story would later inspireparts of “Moby Dick。”

Even in today's world, their situation would be really dire, but thinkabout how much worse it would have been then。

No one on land had any idea that anything had gone wrong。 No search partywas ing to look for these men。 So most of us have never experienced a situationas frightening as the one in which these sailors found themselves, but we allknow what it's like to be afraid。

We know how fear feels, but I'm not sure we spend enough time thinkingabout what our fears mean。

As we grow up, we're often encouraged to think of fear as a weakness, justanother childish thing to discard like baby teeth or roller skates。

And I think it's no accident that we think this way。 Neuroscientists haveactually shown that human beings are hard'wired to be optimists。

So maybe that's why we think of fear, sometimes, as a danger in and ofitself。 “Don't worry,” we like to say to one another。 “Don't panic。” In English, fear is something we conquer。 It's something we fight。

It's something we overe。 But what if we looked at fear in a fresh way? Whatif we thought of fear as an amazing act of the imagination, something that canbe as profound and insightful as storytelling itself?

It's easiest to see this link between fear and the imagination in youngchildren, whose fears are often extraordinarily vivid。

When I was a child, I lived in California, which is, you know, mostly avery nice place to live, but for me as a child, California could also be alittle scary。

I remember how frightening it was to see the chandelier that hung above ourdining table swing back and forth during every minor earthquake, and I sometimescouldn't sleep at night, terrified that the Big One might strike while we weresleeping。

And what we say about kids who have fears like that is that they have avivid imagination。 But at a certain point, most of us learn to leave these kindsof visions behind and grow up。

We learn that there are no monsters hiding under the bed, and not everyearthquake brings buildings down。 But maybe it's no coincidence that some of ourmost creative minds fail to leave these kinds of fears behind as adults。

Good evening, Ladies and Gentlemen:

I'd like to start with a group of pictures。

“Modern and advanced”This society forgets, and ignores the other two thirdsof human beings。 It's far from the ideal! We call ideal as a utopian, a placewhere reality does not exist。 A few people still look forward to the ideals。 Wemake fun of them, considering they are naive。 Will we still be content to livein such a society, if misfortune drops to us? No! Of cause not!

When we feel the warmth of the sun, these people, endure great sorrows andpains。 Can we imagine that? They are our brother and sisters!

Facing them, will we still plain about our own misfortune?

Facing them, will we still have the mood shouting for our own freedom?Facing them, will we still want to have more and more unnecessary stuff?

They are unable to meet their needs, even the basic needs of survival!Everyone, as a member of humanity, shouldn't feel ashamed? Our luxury deprivedtheir lives, our indifference violated our soul, and our barbarity destroyedhuman civilization!

What's the ideal society? It's a society no one worries about their living,a society no one is refused from education, a society everyone can pursue hisherown happiness! The ideal society is filled with love, joy and kindness。 In thatsociety, we can touch the other's hearts, we can share our dreams and mostimportant, we can just be the true men!

Let's break the ethnic pide, bridge the gap between rich and poor, handin hand, to build a Great wall, protecting us from evil; to construct a steadybridge, connecting reality to the ideal society! Let's pursue for that, that'sthe only way to the bright future! They are watching us! Thank you!
