As you can imagine, as international students in Australia, the biggestchallenge is English,I remembered that when I come here first time, there is aparty in the house of my home stay. During the time, they played jokes and theylaughed all the time, do you know how embarrassed that is, everyone laughedexcept you. So I pretend to understand the joke in another party, I saw everyonelaugh and I laugh too in 5 seconds later. My home stay was surprised about thatand asked me “do you understand?”， and I answered “no”， “So why do you laugh?””because I do not want to be embarrassed”!

But as I receive this award today, I want to thank to them, because theyencourage me to be involved with the committee rather than staying in at home,play computer and speak Chinese.

When I came to Wantirna College first time, I met liz collar who isinternational student coordinator. She is very kind to me, and she encourage mejoin SRC, I went to SRC meetings regularly all the time, but I didn’t even knowwhat SRC was! That is the reason why I told her, I don’t want to go to SRCanymore. But she said “why not? You should go and you have to go!”I asked” why?”she said:” because I said so!”

But as ii receive this award today, I want to thank her. She helps me alot.

Truth be told, I am not the best student in Wantirna College, but Iappreciate this award and I will try my best in future.

I think I got 10 seconds left, I want to thank to Les and Vera who is mylovely home stay, thanks to Liz collar who is international student coordinator,I strongly want to thank to my mother, because she support me and gave me theopportunity to come to Australia. life is a box of chocolate，you never know what you will get。 forrest gumpmade no decision by and for himself but he acplished great success with hisstrong will in the process。 the process is not the road itself but the attitudesand feelings ，the caution， courage and persistance we have as we encounter newexperience and unexpected obstacles。 take myself as an example， i changed mymajor when i became a postgraduate。 after the choice，days have been harsh forme。i cannot understand the new lessons at all。 for they are closely related tomathmatics which i learned nothing about before。 however wuth the belief thatthis is the great chance for me to experience new ideas and challenge myself，ipersisted。 i asked for help from every channel and reorgonized my life。gradually i could understand some parts and even found mathsinteresting。moreover， i learned to act instead of plaining。 in retrospect，thechoice left no trace in my mind but the happiness and bitterness of the pastfour months bees an unforgetable experience in my life。

no matter what the choice is， enjoy the process。 in the process， yourpotential will be inspired and new discoveries，improvement and progress will eto you。 these are the most beautiful sceneries and only on the way can you seeit。these make your life colorful。

First， I would like to know， what does your destiny offer you? Happiness，wisdom， a strong body or something else。 If I had asked this question topresident Nixon， he would probably had said，”Our destiny offers not the cup ofdespair， but the chalice of opportunity。”

Needless to say， one of the biggest opportunities given to China is the20_ Olympic Games。 Till now， we have used two sevenths of the preparation time。How much changes have you seen? New roads， new subway lines， public-exercisingequipments with beautiful colors， large blocks of grass fields， and also lots ofmodern gyms which are under construction。

Other than those， there are even more good effects brought to us by theOlympic Games that cannot be seen directly。 For example， more and more peoplewill get to know China。 I’m sure the mysterious Chinese culture will attractthem strongly。 And the games will also do good to the economy and environment，for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness ofenvironmental protection is being strengthened。 What is more， Olympic Games givea unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of Chinese youthwith the Olympic values and the Olympic spirit。 Now that we have seen so manyadvances， could you even imagine us losing the holding rights?

I’ve already said a lot about the Olympics and China。 But I think everyoneshould use some time to think of this question， ”Does the Olympic Games have anyspecial meaning to you?”
